CHRISTMAS WRAPPED UP
I'm not sure that I've ever been so disorganised this close to Christmas. I've still to get the majority of my presents, I've no idea where to start AND there's nothing but dirt in the shops, as d'mammy would say - but sure look, it'll all fall into place I'm sure!
I usually aim to have everything bought by early December, then pick an evening to wrap and really make a night of it. It's a Wonderful Life on in the background, Michael Buble's Christmas album playing low, a glass of wine and plenty of grub. I really do live in a dream world and it never quite turns out the way I do hope but God loves a trier.
Buying and wrapping presents is something I just love to do. I spend weeks trying to pick things out that I think/hope my family will love and I honestly get just as excited giving a gift as I do receiving one. A few years ago I ended up in Rubinesque in Powerscourt (It's gone now *sad face) and I went a little crazy buying lots of fancy ribbon. I think some of my wrapping that year cost more than the actual presents.
This year I wanted to try to have the wrapping a little natural and rustic with lots of greenery and an earthy feel, you know, just to offset the over the top, commercial, unnecessary crap that's hiding inside (it really is a constant battle for me because I love the crap - I just wish that I didn't love it so much :)
The boxes are a bit bashed, the eucalyptus is dead and the photos are dark but I've a toddler and I'm blaming it all on him. So I hope you enjoy because these were a bit of a pain to take between him flying in and out, walking on my flatlays, repeatedly unravelling my twine and hiding the scissors in his toy box (whooooopsie). All for the cause!
