MY TOP 5 NEUTRAL PAINT COLOURS
When I own my own house (most of my sentences begin like that these days, sigh), I know one thing for sure, I want it to feel light, bright and airy.
I've always been obsessed with interiors and have been collecting paint charts and making scrap books of my "dream home" for years but I still don't know exactly what I want. My decorative taste changes on almost a daily basis, but I do know that I want my walls and floors consistently neutral throughout.
I always thought that I wanted white all the way through but lately looking through one of my MANY Farrow and Ball books (I seriously need to get out more), a few off-whites and greys grabbed my attention. I found some images of these colours to get you inspired and the brief descriptions are from the Farrow and Ball website.

AMMONITE
Ammonite is named after the treasured fossils often found on the Dorset coast. It has a fantastically understated modest quality, working perfectly with all the Easy Grey group. It is not gritty or industrial but has a subtle grey tone that suits all contemporary homes. To make it feel more grey it is best paired with All White. White & Light Tones Undercoat.
CORNFORTH WHITE
Cornforth White is the mid tone in the group of Easy Neutrals which are totally understated and extremely versatile. Less grey and gritty than Pavilion Gray and without the perceived warmth of Elephant's Breath, it sits perfectly between Ammonite and Purbeck Stone with which it can be used in any combination. To enhance its grey qualities it is best contrasted with Wevet. White & Light Tones Undercoat.
BLACKENED
Blackened is the coolest of all our whites and is particularly spectacular when used in Full Gloss with stainless steel kitchens. It sits perfectly with all the Architectural Cool group, particularly as a woodwork colour with Pavilion Gray. To see more colour, pair it with All White for a really strong uncompromisingly modern look conducive to minimal living. White & Light Tones Undercoat.
STRONG WHITE
Strong White is not only strong by name but strong by nature. It is the perfect white for use in modern homes, particularly popular in contemporary kitchens when combined with white gloss units. It is grey in tone but has an element of warmth to it when compared to the cooler Blackened. It is also the perfect white for woodwork throughout the house with any of the Easy or Contemporary Neutrals. White & Light Tones Undercoat.

PAVILION GREY
Pavilion Gray works particularly well as a woodwork colour when contrasted with Blackened or Strong White on walls to create the relaxed, much loved Gustavian look. It is also a classic mid grey wall colour, cooler than Cornforth White, it is perfect for the modern family house. Mid Tones Undercoat.
