WINTER COATS - THE EDIT

I think the clothes are one of the best things about Winter. Being cosy, layering my favourite pieces and not having to shave my legs wins every time. Coats are probably my favourite item of clothing to buy (with black ankle boots coming in at a close second) Here are some of my favourites in the shops at the moment...

THE PEACOAT

For me, the peacoat is something that will never go out of fashion. Year after year it comes back. This dark navy one with the gold button detail from River Island has a real Parisian feel. I love this style coat with jeans, a t-shirt and boots - it instantly makes a casual outfit feel more put together. 

ANIMAL PRINT

I always have a soft spot for animal print. It takes me back to my early twenties when festivals, gigs and general loitering around town was the only thing on my agenda. Sometimes I like to throw on a bitta faux fur, hit up Whelans and pretend I'm still 22. If I close my eyes tightly (and have enough sambucas) I can just about believe it! Love this one from Zara!

WINTER NUDE

Pink is not a colour I usually go to when it comes to clothes - because of my blonde hair I always felt a little bit "Barbie" when I wore it. Also, it's definitely not a colour I associate with winter, I have to say though, this year I keep picking up pink jumpers and scarves and I actually like it against my complexion. I just love this coat from Topshop. It would definitely add some much needed colour to my Winter wardrobe.

THE MONOCHROME ONE

I have a wardrobe that would rival Morticia Addams. I tend to wear A LOT of black and sometimes I look like I'm in constant mourning. That's why I think choosing a coat like this one from Zara is perfect. I like it because overall it feels dark, but because it's a grey and white it would add a little lightness to my otherwise gothic closet.
